Approximately 3 miles to the west is the bustling fishing village of Port Isaac

Camelford, the nearest town, is about ten minutes' drive away and has a range of shops and eating places.

Truro, the Eden Project and Tintagel (reputed birthplace of King Arthur) are within easy reach.

There are some glorious sandy beaches for the children (try Rock, Polzeath or Trebarwith Strand) interspersed with rocky coves and caves.
Cycling, walks, beaches and golf
At Padstow you can hire bikes and cycle along the old railway track (
The Camel Trail) as far as Bodmin, but there are great views and beaches all along this undiscovered north coast. No fewer than three golf courses are easily accessible.
This is prime walking country – the South West Coast Path offers great exercise and mile upon mile of unrivalled views.
